Twitter or not to Twitter

I recently read a article discussing whether Twitter is fad or a productive way of sharing information. Honestly, at first i considered Twitter to be another myspace or facebook....but have come to realize it can be useful more than the others in a social network. As a student, I have to decide which classes to take and professor to consider. I have come across many classmates who found out intimate knowledge of how a class is conducted or by whom, by word of mouth I reconsider a certain class. One shouldn't misunderstand, Twitter is still used for telling a number of users what a person is doing at any particular time. So it is important to realize a person can find people to follow and tweet with similar interests r goals.

3-D or No 3-D

Virtual interaction has been increasing for quite sometime. Recently I read an article of an individual whose social life practically revolves around 3-D communication. Countless people utilize this kind of communication to avoid the disruptions or irritating situations one would face in person. An exmple of this kind of interaction is second life, which people can communicate with the use of an avatar, which is a 3-D character created by the user. This site itself has many uses, socially and business wise. The real question is, can this form of communication replace a person-person conversation or will it be a passing phase.

Pilots on their laptops during flights

I would like to think I'm a open minded person, but i draw the line when it comes to safety. I read an article discussing pilots using their laptops while flying on the twenty-seventh of this month. These pilots were so distracted by their laptops, they missed the destination of the flight completely. In this situation, the biggest problem arised was a delay in time. Though I think there could of been a massive problem such as fuel running out. Its being discussed whether or not to take their licenses away, but they technically didn't violate an actual policy. My opinion they should not be on their computers, lives are at risk. What do you think?

Wikipedia

I have been using the internet for quite some time now for research and personal reasons. Wikipedia was one of the main cites I trusted for important information. As of a week ago, the site is now complete garbage. Its information can be altered by anyone that has the proper account, including myself. Recently, I created my account to try and ubderstand the process of wikipedia. During this, I chose an article regarding my favorite books description and added what I thought of the book in general. This showed how easily infromation can be alterned at any time. I for one will do extensive research on everything I need to know about.

Turner's secret web weapon, by Tom Lowry

Hello, all
David Levy, who merged TV and the internet in the preevious years, has an interesting way of introducing sports fans to the new media age. In terms of fans of golf or basketball for example, one's occupation can conflict with game schedules. Levy became aware of this, so he pratically placed t.v. on the web for users " on the go", to veiw at their conveniece. Ofcourse businesses, should take advantage to post their ads for products. It's seems to be a great way for those who aren't familiar with using internet, for sports can prove to be important.
thanks
